Putting People over Profits

Numbers don’t lie! When companies put people over profits, everyone benefits! It is a win-win situation, people are nurtured, encouraged and valued, and productivity, profits and sales go up!

But, what does it mean to put people over profits and how does it help your business growth?

An organisation that puts people first is one where everyone is

👉 recognising the magic within each of their employees

👉 appreciating people for more than just their roles

👉 giving each other freedom to lead from the place of personal power, and

👉 investing in connecting themselves and others to their purpose

Then the inner leader and genius awakens within them all!

This leads to increased loyalty, real engagement with the work that they are doing, being excited to step forward and offer innovative solutions and deliver the work they are doing with a level of purpose and joy. And when that is the energy coming from every employee, growth is inevitable!

It is like having Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Picasso and Michelangelo on the same team doing what they do best! Is this too good to be true?

People over profits: an example

Corporate Rebels showcase a great case study of a company called Panelfisa, a manufacturing company where they noticed:

🔻 efficiency levels were low

🔻 quality problems were a regular issue

🔻 repeated delivery problems were costing a lot of money on emergency transport

🔻 little and poor communication between the office and factory floor

🔻 employee morale was deteriorating rapidly

They knew that they needed more than just quick fixes and a one-time transformation they need to find a more human, more engaging way of working.

They worked with an outside company to bring about deep change which included among many things:

  1. Making sure that the entire organisation was committed to change by inspiring employees and leadership to make the change

  2. Involving all the staff in the company in the whole process including asking them if they wanted to see change and then requesting to hear about their feelings, dreams and fears

  3. Radically changing the company’s organisation structure. They no longer had the traditional hierarchy but instead created a networked structure of 12 self-managing and highly autonomous teams

  4. Changed the reward structure and made it clear how each team’s contribution affects the performance of the organisation

The results speak for themselves!

🔼 On-time delivery up by 100%

🔼 Sales up by 20%

🔼 Margins  up by 51%

🔼 Production up by 63%
