Organisation as a Platform: what organisations of the future could look like
Over the last few months, I have been thinking a lot about what organisations of the future could look like, and how they could impact the world more positively.
I loved sharing my idea of an Organisation as a Platform at the conferences I spoke at this year. And afterwards, I elaborated on them further with the people I have connected with on the back of those events.
Hearing people’s feedback and responses to the work that I am doing is not only incredibly affirming but also, it helps me to deepen the concept and add new layers to it.
What is an Organisation as a Platform?
Organisation as a Platform is an organisation that enables and facilitates connections between people to create value and drive positive change in its ecosystem.
What is an Organisation’s ecosystem?
Organisation's ecosystem is a network of interconnected parties interacting or impacting each other as a result of an organisation existing.
What makes Organisation as a Platform different?
When organisations operate as platforms for positive change every living being benefits. Because organisations shape the world and are capable of shaping it any way we can imagine.
What is Organisation as a Platform based on?
I have discovered in the last few months that there are 4 essential pillars to Organisation as a Platform. I like to call them the Pillars of Truth:
👉 Connection
👉 Collaboration
👉 Compassion
👉 Contribution
The reason they are pillars of truth is that they are applicable to every party in the ecosystem and to every interconnection between them.
These 4 pillars are at the very heart of a new future for organisations because…
… without connection to yourself, your work, your team, the customers and beyond, how can you know that what you are doing is making a difference and that you are living with purpose?
…without collaboration with those who know what we don't and have talents we lack, how can you learn new things and create greater impact at the speed expected these days?
…without compassion for yourself and others, how can you see the other person as a human also trying to be the best that they can be, learning and processing the ups and downs of what they experience?
…without contribution to a cause bigger than ourselves, how can you play your part in bringing about the change you wish to see in this world?
