The 4 Pillars of Truth in Practice

I don’t just share my philosophy on the future of organisations to inspire others, I live and breathe it myself. What do I mean by this?

Part of my journey over the last year or so has been to put together a team of people who can support me in different areas to bring my life’s purpose to life.

Finding the right brand designer was super important for me. The inner perfectionist in me can be very particular and so I was looking for someone who really got me and understood what I was after.

After a little trial and error along the way, I found Gemma Andrews!

Gemma has been such a superstar and pleasure to work with for my branding and I realised recently that it was all because we had the 4 pillars of truth in place!

➡️ CONNECTION: Gemma totally got who I am, what my work and brand is about and I was incredibly impressed when she nailed the brand design on the first go.

➡️ COLLABORATION: This wasn’t just a transactional service where I hired Gemma to create my branding and off she went. It was a collaboration between the two of us. Gemma was very responsive to feedback and understood that within this process there was a dynamic element of business growth and evolution. As I got to understand and know my business better we changed some aspects of the branding along the way.

➡️ COMPASSION: Gemma understands the dynamic nature of being a solopreneur well. She was incredibly patient and flexible with me as a client. She adapted the way she worked by recording videos for feedback for me because that was how I consumed the information better (rather than receiving lengthy emails!). I also appreciated that design work takes time and effort, so we both adapted the boundaries (timelines and compensation) as the scope of our work was changing.

➡️ CONTRIBUTION: No matter the changes that I requested, Gemma continued to add value to the project and shared her opinions with me honestly. Even if that meant more work for her! She wasn’t just choosing the easy route. She was committed to the integrity of my brand and prioritised getting the best result for me, as her client.

When we work with these 4 pillars in place then magic happens!

I love my new branding, it feels so “me” and I feel incredibly blessed to have worked with Gemma, who is truly passionate, incredibly talented and she gracefully balances the business and the human side of what she offers.

In my experience of working with a brand designer, I found that the 4 pillars of truth - connection, collaboration, compassion, and contribution - were key to creating a successful partnership. My designer Gemma Andrews embodied these pillars and delivered excellent results. I believe that when we work with these pillars in place, magic can happen!
